The Global Predictions economic forecasting platform is complex. Very complex. We use over 50,000 data series from extremely diverse areas like politics, public health, macroeconomics, financial markets, demographics, and more. Your role will be to help transform that data into actionable insights by helping scale up the data pipelines, solve issues throughout the backend, set up tests, and help develop front-end features. It’ll be a dynamic position that has you helping out across the entire software stack, on a small team that’s iterating quickly.

Responsibilities
- Build access and analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights for the Quantitative Economics, Software, and ML/AI teams
- Construct automated quality checks across the data store to ensure quality control
- Collaborate to build ML tools to increase automated insight generation and integration to core GP Knowledge Graph and macroeconomic models
- Build out elegant and functional UIs
- Contribute cross stack, with a focus on back end technologies, and learn wide variety of skills and technologies
Desired Qualifications
- Be completing or have completed an undergraduate degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science
- Have experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, etc
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
- Be educated on financial/economic models, and interested in answering some of the biggest questions in the quantitative economics space
